Censorship Does More Good Than Harm

Censorship is a word that arises many feelings and interpretations for everyone. Each individual has witnessed or experienced some type of censorship in their lives where it is the suppression or prohibition of certain things such as books, media, and news. Having things censored is taking away the freedom of an individual it’s like enclosing an individual in a box without letting the person see, listen, smell, touch, and taste the reality. There are different thoughts on things being censored some may follow along or go against it, but if things are censored arising consequences may occur later on. Therefore it is a risk to censure others because new problems arise. To begin with, by censoring things from a person it creates rebellion and ignorance. When you censure something it takes away the liberty of a person such as the freedom of speech because if a certain topic isn’t allowed to be expressed, people are limited to talk and express their thoughts. With the torn pieces of paper, she is forced to writing a completely new speech that doesn’t show her true thoughts and is silenced with the truth. If the truth isn’t mentioned there is no possibility of a better change because everyone thinks everything is normal. For that reason censoring things may cause a contrary effect from what is expected because censorship gives rise to curiosity and people could investigate more by any means about the subject censored. This can arise negative feelings of injustice leading to aggression and rebellion. Also if the information is censored there is ignorance because people are not allowed to learn so there is the loss of ideas. Then the society becomes like robots because they lack the ability to form their own criteria and be themselves.
