Celtic Culture in Healthcare
The United States of America is home to a diverse population of people and communities. This population consists of people with different cultures, race/ethnicity, beliefs and languages. Cultural competence is "the ability to understand, appreciate, and interact with persons from cultures and/or belief systems other than one’s own.” Healthcare providers must recognize and address these various unique cultures, languages and beliefs to improve health and patient care. One of the cultures that is recognized is Celtic culture.
