The Capistrano Unified School District took the parents of Jeremy Wartenberg, Wayne and Charlene Wartenberg to court in their refusal to pay for Jeremy’s private school tuition, fees spent at the private school, and attorney fees. The school district expresses that Jeremy’s behavior comes from his own willfulness to misbehave not his disability. The school psychologist, although acknowledging that Jeremy had a learning disability of attention deficit disorder (ADD), which allowed for an IEP and services, felt that it was not sever enough to be a contributing factor to his behavior. He felt that Jeremy’s primary behavior was largely related to his failure to work, cooperate, and school truancies rather than his primarily disability of ADD. Cm Gilmore made an unannounced visit to RiverRidge Elementary to ensure safe and well-being for VC Dalton Richardson. CM Gilmore explained to the school staff, the reason for the visit. Present in the interview was Dalton’s teacher Ms. Rosier, and the assistance principle Mrs. Hewey. CM Gilmore had a difficult time with speaking to Dalton due to his movement, and impulse control. His teacher was able to control Dalton, and keep him focused during the interview.…
Susan and family assistant visited families of the children twice a year to help them with issues like finding housing or ESL classes etc. Classroom number six was a special class and not a head start class during the audit years. They had five integrated and one special class during the audit years. School did not provide related services to the children.…

It was decided upon at Emily's annual meeting that Emily will have an outcome to address her reported anxiety. MSTT met with Lemuel and Leslie for a session to discuss Lemuel dropping out of school. Leslie expressed she signed Lemuel out of school because he had already failed the 9th grade three times and was in jeoperdy of failing the 9th grade again. One of Brighton School’s significant shortcomings is our attendance rate. Education is not a major priority amongst some of the families in the community. Alana, for example, almost missed a whole week of school due to traveling to a casino with her mother and grandmother. Melinda suffered from frequent stomach aches which is a symptom of anxiety. Melinda’s toughest time was when she could not tell her family.
