The only articles that were used where English peer reviewed. The criteria for the search was articles no more than five years old. The original search resulted in 31 articles that showed potential. Two articles were eliminated because there were proposals rather than true research articles. The other articles were evaluated for relevancy and strength which resulted in 12 articles being eliminated. The remaining 19 were kept because they were evidence based articles or were articles that helped to better understand cellulitis in general. The articles were sorted and arranged into common themes. IV medications were also the same with the exclusion of oxacillin and nafcillin. What set this study apart from 5-Minute Consult is that they exluded mild cases of cellulitis but did use oral antibiotics to treat. They also compared the oral vs the IV. The end result was that they were equally as effective, the significance of this could lead to decreased treatment cost, less admissions, and less invasive because IV access is not
