My topic is the power of art/music in The Cellist of Sarajevo, In the story music affects it quite a bit, it changes the stories atmosphere and the characters emotions. Music affects characters such as Arrow and the Civilians, it impacted arrow because every time the cellist played his cello, the music portrayed her life before the war, that caused her to become herself again. This is shown when after all the killing she has done, she refused to kill an innocent man and went against her commander's orders. At the end of the story Arrow accepted her death after disobeying her commander’s orders and she died happy because she died as Alisa not as Arrow.
