Cell phones are hand-held phones that also known as wireless phones or mobile phones. Cellular phones are part of modern telecommunication and in many countries, cell phone markets have grown allowing access over half of the population of each country to use cell phones. In 2014, 6.9 billion individuals had a cell subscription globally (World Health Organization, 2014). Cell phones allow people to communicate with other people making it reliable to reach anyone globally.
Due to many cell phone users globally, it is important to understand, investigate and know any potential health impact it may cause to the public (World Health Organization, 2014).

This research report about Cell Phone Usage in America will report on four components. The of risk on cell phone usage that deals with health issues – brain tumors and electromagnetic radiation. Second, the benefits of cell phone usage that include mobile banking, instant communication, and GPS use. Third, statistics on cell phone usage that include hours per day spent on cell phone activities, listening to music, and the number of text sent and received per day. Lastly, cell phone etiquette that includes in the workplace, in public place, and in the classroom.

When using a cell phone, individuals are exposed to radiofrequencies. Cell phones use radiofrequency transmitters that range from 450 and 2700 MHz with a peak power of 0.1 to 2 watts (World Health Organization, 2014). This only occurs when the handset is on. The exposure to the individual using the handset reduces and falls with increasing distance from the handset.
