For example, they should be allowed during passing period and lunch but not classes. Phones should be turned in when they are taking a test or quiz. Students are allowed to get it after everyone is done. If they have their phones out the students can take a picture of it and send it to other students as well as looking up answers. Students could also not pay attention to something that they need to know for college or their career path. They won’t focus on what is really important. Cell phones already take over so much of student’s lives. College is a big campus to control, that’s why teachers should be allowed to pick whether or not to have cell phones in their classrooms. The president of the university can tell the teachers, that cell aren’t allowed. The students are old enough not to use phones in class. I had a hard time starting the paper. I did start with the topic of “is college competitive?” As I started to write that paper I stopped and thought how I could get 4-5 pages out of that topic. Then I went and looked online for different topics ideas. That’s when I came across “should cell phones be banned in school.” I thought that the ban on cell phones would be easier to write about than competitive college. With the first topic I did had to look up acceptance rates for different schools. With the cell phone ban I didn’t have to look up any information to put into the paper. The only thing I looked up was about the Deer Creek shooting to just refresh my mind. I did write some paragraphs on a separate piece of paper to get ideas going. When I type things up from my head thoughts are scattered. With writing on separate paper I can get ideas organized. The counterarguments were probably the most difficult to write. The college counterargument was the hardest. It was hard to think of things to put into it. Overall, I think I did an okay job on the
