Using it as a tool in the classroom by doing research, making videos, group work, and using learning apps are just a few ways teachers can use them. If students are doing a project and they need to do research but there are no computers available, students can pull out their cell phones and look information up. For example, at the high school I attended, we were doing a project in World History and we did not have a lab so our teacher allowed us to use our cell phones to work on our project. It allowed class to move on as projected without having to make everything a day back or using it as a blow off day. Using movie makers are also another way students can use their phones. In Spanish class, we had to make a video on what we were learning at the time so using iMovie came in handy. We were able to complete the video during class time since it was difficult for everyone to get together outside of school. Almost all of the studies show that cell phones make a positive impact. Teachers, parents, and administrators that think it will leave a negative impact, all worry about cyberbullying, sexting, etc. which is all understandable but it can happen at any time, any where so I do not see why that should stop the use of cell phones. In Canada, a study was done with 331 teens all at the age of 14-16. They were all tracked to see how it impacted their schooling. All of them were surprised that a cell phone could be incorporated.
