A 68% of the teachers on a survey say that the perfect way to keep the students attention is in banning the cell phones in class. By stopping students in using their cell phones they will be on top of their work and not be left behind. More solutions would be cell phone policy to be developed by the academic program, orienting students to the cell phone policy, communicating cell phone etiquette for the class, role model cell phone etiquette, reinforcing cell phone etiquette, and request students not bring cell phones to class during exams. Watters (2011) discussed different approaches for issuing rules dealing with cell phone use in the classroom, some of which include the following: Banning cell phones outright, which may require putting the phones in a locker turning off cell phones after entering the classroom, allow them to be used only at the discretion of the teacher. The parents are also supporting the schools policy’s about cell phones. Schools officials also dedicate their time putting block ups on Facebook and social medias that students would get into. By blocking what they would get in too it will keep them focus on their work instead of being on Facebook. Students will learn to set aside their cell phones and put their education first which is their future. It is important to leave the social media and get as much as information and knowledge in what the professor is teaching. Benefit in putting all those rules is that students will focus on just work and not just on unnecessary waste of time on mobile. There grades will improve when following the rules.
