Are Cell Phones A Good Invention For Society?

On April 3, 1973, the first cell phone was invented and they have been a blessing and a curse to society. Cell phones cause car crashes, cancer, and cost a wide variety of money to buy and have a cellular plan. But on the brighter side, cell phones have helped society as a whole evolve, such as having faster communication, having installed a navigation system, storing valuable information, and having apps for different useful things. Are cell phones a great invention for society? Or are they a corruption to our daily life?

Cell phones, on a yearly average, cause about 1.6 million car crashes because people either text and drive, talk on the phone while driving, or are on social media while driving. Most people that do drive while looking at their phones think that they are really good multitaskers, while in reality if you are multitasking, you are not focused on the main task at hand. instead your focused on more than one thing and can miss or be blind sighted by other things or objects that could cause a crash while driving. Also a study found that people who talked over the phone for over 25 years were at three times the risk of developing giloma, a brain tumor that is often malignant, than those who used them for less than a year. So when asked are cell phones a great invention for society? Or are they a corruption to our daily life? there are always going to be problems with every invention made, but with the good that comes out of it, which out does the bad, cell phones are a great invention to society which has helped us through many years and will continue to do the same as it continues to develop. People are always excited to see what is in store next for them technology wise and with the technology that we have now, who knows whats next? All we can think of is how it will benifit us
