Cell Phone Radiations: A Video Analysis

Improved Essays
We researched and looked to see if there were any relations to cell phone radiations and if it can cause cancer. This is a controversial issue because there has been reason to believe cell phone radio frequency can cause health problems, however, this is an a new subject that requires extensive studies. At this point, we are assuring consumers there should not be a concern, nonetheless, preventive measures can be taken.

There has been many cases of health issues and problems in the past few years. Over time the influence and use of cell phones in our society has increased at a very fast rate. According to Burgess, in 1999 there were about 293 million cellphone users in the entire world (Burgess 2, 2004). This can be compared to the about 327 million cell phone users in the United States today shows how much the use of cell phones has increased in approximately 15 years. Also the risk of developing brain cancer does increase due to age. According to Burgess however, the issue of cellphones and their link to cancer was first brought up in the United States after an American Woman attempted to sue a cell phone company and claimed that cell phone usage had caused her to develop cancer (Burgess 75, 2004). This case was dismissed by the United States legal system but similar cases started to come up again in the United States, and in Europe and Australia (Burgess 75, 2004). This raised a concern among the casual user of the cell phone and helped to aware people to begin to question whether or not cell phones are truly safe. History has shown people have associated health concerns with cell phones. However, research is in its developmental stages and it is has not been concluded if cell phone radiation links to cancer or …show more content…
A rising concern about cellphone radiation occurred in the early 2000’s. Several years have passed and those concerned with the issue are now out of their teens and 20’s. Older adults tend to be more skeptical of cell phones due to them not always being around. Cell phones were introduced at a later part in their life. The video we chose to do could be ran as a television ad, or posted on the internet for those looking to be informed on the issue. Among online adult users, 63% of people 50-64 are on Facebook, which makes the internet an excellent avenue for information to travel quickly to the middle-aged consumer as their social media activity has increased. Older adults would be more likely to view it on television because they are not seen on the internet as much. Seeing a visual of other people taking precaution with the issue will help influence those viewing to take precaution

What are health sissies coursed by RadioWaves Radio Waves emit Radio Frequency (RF) radiation, which can give off a high or low RF energy. If the radio wave gives of a high RF it can course serious health effects coursing burns and tissue damage which can be absorbed into large amounts of water, food and fluids and can be the course of cancer. If the radio wave gives of a low RF it still can course burns and tissue damage, but can not be the course of cancer. Low Radio Waves can not course cancer since it is a non-inoizing radiation, other non-ionizing radiation include visible light, Microwaves and infrared radiation. All of these non-inoizing do not have enough energy to course the inoization of atoms and molecules to change in the human…

The increased use of electronic devices such as cell phones, tablets, laptops, television sets radios and Global positioning devices has necessitated the need for further study. According to Mina, Hyoungjune, Mihye, Hyun, Byung-Chan, Yoon-Myoung and Jeong-Ki (2007:279), there was an increased risk of lymphocytic leukaemia among children with higher levels of exposure to radio frequency radiation from Amplitude modulation (AM) radio broadcasting; than among children with lower levels of exposure. Soviet investigators have also indicated that long-term radio frequency exposure may result in hypotension and bradycardia or tachycardia (Jauchem: 1997: 9-21). It is expected that the level of exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic fields will increase as talking time on radios and other devices increases.…

The article starts by introducing the reader to the increased number of adolescent cell phone users, which in turn means that the level of radio frequency has also increased. This is of some concern due to the fact that “radiation exposures are higher for children than adults because children have thinner skulls” (Rosenberg 67). The article then goes on to introduce current and past research studies that are working to find a correlation between cell phone usage and brain cancer. In one of these studies, mice will be subjected to the radiation produced by cell phones several times a day to see how the frequencies affect their brains. The author then presents recommendations, from societies such as the American Cancer Society, on how to minimize radiation exposure.…
