Cell Group Observation

The first cell group is more informal since it was held in a public area. It was attended by two person. I was able to observe that the conversation seems to be too personal and there is a mutual trust and assurance of confidentiality between the cell leader and the attendee. There is really no structure in place, no singing and prayer that happened but sharing of life experiences was what mostly transpired. The cell leader didn’t use the bible to read passages but was able to quote the scripture from memory to strengthen the team member. I could say that the cell leader and the member has a very good relationship.

The second cell group that I attended is more structured. It was attended by 6 persons. We sang songs and prayed. Each one had an opportunity to share what they thank God for or what they had in mind. The facilitator did not talk too much, however the conversation tend to divert in different topics e.g. homosexuality, divorce, child rearing and personal experiences. It took us a long time that we were not able to read a scripture and talk about the word of God and the host started preparing the table because the kids had not eaten yet. It must have been the cell leader was reestablishing rapport since it has been a long time that they haven’t had a cell going.

A leader and an individual are obligated to maintain certain characteristics in the best interest of a sports team, academic organization, or club. Every organization depends on its leaders and members to be successful. Being a participant in Christians in Action, dual credit courses at Angelina College, and National Honor Society, I notice the officers and members acting in agreement on behalf of the club or in support of their classes and grades. Christians in Action relies on guidance of a leader, especially since staff is prohibited from partaking in religious ensembles. Religion cannot be taught in public schools.…

Speaking on my experience at Sheppard Pratt as I stated before, working on an adolescent unit can be very trying on your emotions and patience. From this experience I believe I have become fully aware of my emotions and feelings. If there were ever a time I felt myself or I saw a coworker becoming irrationally emotional while working, we would offer to take a break or walk around the building and cover that coworker’s task for the time. I feel is important for a leader to know their limits and know when they need to let someone else handle the situation at hand.…
