Celebrating Pedro Persuasive Speech

Decent Essays
Today we have the unenviable duties of celebrating Pedro’s life and saying goodbye. Your presence and your kindness and prayers have sustained us. In speaking to so many of you, in hearing all your stories on how great he was to you, we have learned, even more than we knew before, how widely and deeply Pedro was loved. It is heart wrenching to know that he will no longer be here to make us laugh or to get us all in trouble in some way. He had the ability to charm himself into so much trouble and then charm himself right out of it. Unfortunately, the night of his passing he wasn't able to get himself out of harm's way.
Parents shouldn't have to bury their children. It's something that nobody should experience but the Muñoz family must endure

If the Newseum is torn down, the first amendment will not have a place to be celebrated just for itself, so there will be no place to celebrate the first American Constitutional freedom. President Trump is pressuring Congress into passing a bill that will start a project to make room for new monuments. The project will consist of tearing down monuments that the government feels are unnecessary. The project will ruin DC and the American spirit. If the bill does pass, the Newseum should definitely not be torn down since it is a reminder of what America is, it will have horrible economic effects on the country, and tearing it down will diminish the American spirit.…

Martin Luther King, Jr. once said that “Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” In Cesar Chavez’s speech, he had the daunting task of simultaneously writing a eulogy in remembrance and love of Dr. King’s immensely influential life, and the job of delivering their shared message of promoting nonviolent action to oppose discrimination. Both Dr. King and Chavez had spent their lives fighting racial inequality, and both brought about major changes for Americans (and the world) due to their efforts. Throughout Chavez’s thought provoking speech, he attempts to persuade Americans that nonviolence is the only real way to solve our problems, through emotional and powerful language. Chavez is able to accomplish this through the repeated use of assertions, a specific point of view and his diction.…

ORIGINS by Ian King is more than a great story – it is a look at the origins of Halloween that will (or should) make you view this festive holiday somewhat differently – a look that just could cause you to ban this holiday forever! Exciting on the edge of your seat thriller that will make you think twice at every turn, as ordinary people (people like me and you) find themselves entrenched in the ways of Druids who have an agenda – an agenda of evil – and their focus is YOU! Below is an excerpt that particularly caught my eye (and one that is safe for all readers).…

In La Isla Minima and El Laberinto del Fauno historical justice is depicted in different ways. It’s hard to tell which one is considered to be better than the other as in both of those films there is an abuse of power and corruption in the justice system. In La Isla Minima the series of events take place South of Spain, in a time when that country is shaken by political instability and corruption within the authorities. We are able to see a transitional world of distrust, perversion and disillusionment.…
