Have you ever met someone who wasn’t what you thought they were? Maybe you shouldn’t trust just one source. Textbooks often only show one side of a story. New evidence proves that Columbus was not what he seemed. Due to this new information, should we continue to celebrate Columbus Day as we always have or make some changes? Most people thought that Christopher Columbus was a good man who founded America. Really, and with new evidence we have learned, that wasn’t the case. When Columbus got to America he used violence and slavery against the people he named “Indians.” He scared them and wasn’t nice to them. Columbus sold hundreds of Indians into slavery, some as young as nine years old. He also made many Indians practice the Christian religion
