Her grey-blue eyes rimmed with red stared out of the window, watching the trains chug passed as the rain fell. It was as if the sky was crying, crying for her. She saw her reflection in the window staring back at her. She was weak and scared; worry had infected her thoughts and spread through her veins as if it were venom. A single tear rolled down her cheek, staining the envelope that she was grasping onto, turning her cold knuckles pale, pushing it to her chest. The fear of what the truth held was like a thick blanket, trapping her inside her own mind, restraining her as her thoughts chased her through her own mind. She missed Andy-it showed. She moved herself slowly to the sitting area, watching the flames dance in the fire place as she …show more content…

The worry faded from Cecelia's mind, a genuine smile stretched onto her face, she wiped away the stray tears that hung around. “I miss you” she choked in-between faint sobs, continuing on with the letter.

The next few lines were just scribbled out, causing her inner curiosity to wonder what could've compelled him to hide the lines from her. However, the following text made her wish she was only dreaming.
Cecelia, I'm dearly sorry... Frances-Jane is pregnant, a child is growing within her.. because of me, because of my rebellious behaviour. I wish I could've told you in person, although I had only found out just recently.I’m sorry Cecelia... Frances-Jane and I have agreed to marry, not out of love, but out of responsibility. A wave of shock overcame her, her eyes began to water, hands tingling, mind racing. She couldn't believe what she had just read. A child was coming into the world because of Andy, and she wasn't the fortunate mother. Everything started to spin, her shoulders shook and her vision became more blurred from the tears. Selfish tears. Cecelia scorned herself for being so self-centred. Frances-Jane was pregnant, pushed away from society and shunned down upon from wedlock, and here she was; tears running down her cheek, running from her selfish eye.
