I am currently employed as the Administration Team Leader in the Central Coast Cancer Centre (CCCC). This role encompasses direct staff management as well as managing the daily operations of the CCCC clinics to ensure financial, human resources and administrative requirements are met in accordance with organisational needs. I am regularly required to make decisions on approaches to problems and sensitive issues, identify options and implement effective solutions while taking a leading role in negotiations with all levels of CCCC staff to improve services delivered at the Centre. I have provided recommendations regarding strategic projects, future goals and organisational objectives while supporting ongoing change and providing comprehensive analysis of current practice and the impact of new directions in multidisciplinary coordination and patient record management.
Previous to my work with CCLHD I had the opportunity to work in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) integrating the secondary tier for the current UAE health service over a three year contract. I was employed as a Management Consultant with Dubai Health Care City (DHCC) to implement their new operating systems. This comprised teams creating workflow systems for individual components/sites within the Health Care City business model. Dubai formerly operated a limited health service that did not include GP consultation for patient care. I was responsible for early consultation with staff and management to promote ownership, collaboration and gain commitment from key stakeholders in preparation for the implementation of the new health system. During this project I gained valuable experience and insight into positive leadership and social inclusion. This project was successful in promoting respect, cooperation, teamwork, inclusiveness and friendship for troubled youth in a healthy and safe environment. Evaluation of this project emphasised the importance of strong positive leadership, fostered a deeper understanding of the issues youth face on a daily basis, exposed a lack education regarding the availability of support and opportunities in the community and strengthened support networks within our local area.
