The first and probably the main pro is it can be used for study. Scientist can go into caves and learn alot about the earth such as what type of rocks are in that region or what kind of metals are underground. The second pro is it can be a sport. Yes, caving can be a sport, well more of an extreme sport but it can be one. You can gear up, find some people who are willing to go with no, never go caving alone, and go find a cave. The third pro is it can be educational. This is similar to the first one but this one implies for school. For example in 2015 there was 26 Caving incidents, 5 Cave Diving Incidents, and 5 Cave Related Incidents. Now while that seems like alot of Incidents there was only 9 fatalities. One of the cons is you can get trapped. In 2015 only two poeople got trapped or stranded and they both survive. The second con is you can get lost, and the third con is you can get hypothermia, now this one does not happen often. The latest report I can find is in 2011 where to students from University of Florida got trapped and died of hypothermia. Now take what you want but to me caving does not seem all to bad, most people who had caving accidents made it out
