What were causes world war 1? If you ask that question some people might tell you to remember the word “main” which stands for militarism,alliances,imperialism and nationalism, why do they say to remember main? Because World War One revolved around those four words and were some major causes of it. For a state to be powerful it had to have a powerful army that way it could protect its interests and policies. Strong armies and navies were needed so they could defend their home and to protect imperial and trades in other country's ,they also wanted to have a big army to scare off any threats and rivals,militarism also had a big impact on world war one because the more people were building their militaries the more pressure started to build
