On August 1800, a group of slaves plotted a revolt in Richmond, Virginia. The leader of this revolt was a blacksmith named Gabriel. Gabriel recruited followers from miles around with homemade swords for war. Gabriel planned three slave armies to capture and kidnap the Virginia governor. Unfortunately, two rebels told their masters about the revolt and they were put on trial and sentenced to death.Gabriel and rest of the was executed and buried in unmarked graves. Gabriel believed in killing people for freedom of several hundred thousands of enslaved Virginians.
