As a result of this, Macbeth kills Duncan, commencing his downfall. He regrets his action, but Lady Macbeth simply advises him to Consider it not so deeply (II, ii, 30).
This action is the final step that his wife contributes to his downfall. Lady Macbeth does not think what they have done is wrong and shows him that murder is a solution to his problems, telling him not to consider of what he has done.
