They arrived to Valley Forge in 1777, after George Washington had failed to stop the British when General Howe marched his army into the national capital of Philadelphia. Even Though they failed defending themselves, they still did not give up. According to Noel F Busch states that , “nearly 50% of the population in Valley Forge had left or died after less than a year.” Researches at the University of Michigan states that “you have 10% chance of dying each day.” The first example states that about 50% of the population in Valley Forge either decided to leave Valley Forge, or they either died. The second example shows that the chances of dying are not that high, but still I don't want to risk my life in a such way.
