After the War of 1812 and the period was known as the "Era of Good Feelings" which considered a time of social/cultural, economic and political nationalism; however, after the period, issues regarding nationalism and sectionalism began to unfold. After the victory against the British, the United States became confident. However, men like John Calhoun, and Henry Clay were thinking of a more sectional approach.
