Many people claim that is would be impossible to end world hungry as a whole. I find this mindset very problematic. We have people buying personal planes that cost 300 million dollars, and a boat that costs 200 million dollars. Imagine what could have been done with that money all over the world, rather than spent on a plane and boat that is used maybe twice a year. The base of this problem I believe is the individual.…

The increasing numbers of families in poverty pose a threat to that and the fact that Anna Quindlen is trying to prove is that their are people starving out there but people don’t notice it. She states that, “surely there should be ways for a civilized society to see that such a thing would never happen, from providing a simpler application for food stamps to setting a decent minimum wage.” with that statement said it is true that things should have been easier. But people of all races and ethnicities find troubles getting a good source of food when time are hard. Making sure your kids eat regularly with poor pay and a dead end job is a really difficult…

When you think about hunger, it’s a hard thing to think about; what we think about is eating and everyone thinks about eating a lot, everyone loves eating. In November 2017, I spent a weekend at a charity organization called Heifer Farm that works to end hunger and poverty. This experience lets people understand how fortunate industrialized nations are. Most of us do not even think twice about where we will get our food or if we have available clean water or electricity. During the trip I had to live in a section of the farm dedicated to houses that display poverty conditions based on a country; the Global Village. The houses did not have heat or electricity and later in the day it began to rain.…

This is a tricky question. Considering all of this issues that have arisen with patented GMO seeds, like world hunger issues that could be solved without restrictions and the complications that come with GMO's, my initial answer was no, companies shouldn't have a right. However, just because certain companies have dominated the game of seed manufacturing, and farming in general, does not mean that this is "illegal". Ethically I don't know where I stand because technically they aren't doing anything wrong. They are indirectly causing world hunger and hurting people and farmers, and the global economy for that matter.…

Over the past two decades, food prices have risen 2.6 percent a year on average. This catches the attention of everyone as food is an essential in our everyday lives. Without food, to put it simply, we’ll be extinct. The rise in food prices equates to less fortunate people being further away from having a meal, instead of the phrase, “A child dies every 5 second from starvation”, it could be, “5 children die every second from starvation”. This would cause an uproar of upset people, which could then cause riots, strikes and would lead to global unrest.…
