We-collectively and individually- choose to ignore situations in our lives for the reason that we believe it will benefit us to turn a blind eye. We fail to see the faults in this mentality. When you see a homeless person on the street, sitting on a cold and hard concrete floor, you often clench whatever you are holding with a tighter grip than before. You speed up the pace at which you are walking; passing this destitute man with frail white hair and aged watery eyes, as you turn your gaze across the street hoping that your eyes won’t meet.
