Genetics is the study of heredity and the variation of inherited characteristics. It is basically how your body converts food into energy and how your body burns calories during exercise. Family lifestyle can cause obesity also. Obesity tends to run into families. If one of you parents or both are obese, you may become obese also. This is not because of genetics. Families usually share similar eating and activity habits. Inactivity can really cause you to become obese. If you are not active, you can’t burn that many calories than you would be if you are active.
