Young adults spend their whole day at college, that they barely have any time to make their own food. Colleges offer fast foods, so young adults would not have to bother even going off campus to purchase food or even for them to go home and have to prepare their food. Colleges are the other main reason for young adults to become more obese. Young adults can purchase how much and at whatever time they decide to purchase fast food. Obesity rates of the ages of 18-25 have raised because of college fast foods. Mark Bittman, author of Bad Food? Tax It, and Subsidize Vegetables presents a statistic when he points out that “One-third of all Americans either have diabetes or are pre-diabetic, most with Type 2 diabetes” (11). The lack of not making extra 30 minutes to workout has really changed the way young adults are and how they will be in there future. The next set of bloomers will be affected more than us if we do not make a change in the society. Next generation bloomers might even be more overweight than we are. Probably foods are going to made out of chemicals and preservatives. More costs to medical, making the United States corrupt and shutting down medical insurance for those who really need it and for those who are handicap.
