I am talking about them together because they kind of run together. Poverty leads to many families in third world countries to not be able to provide food for their families. War can cause poverty and make food hard to get too. In war, starvation can also be used a weapon in under developed countries. That has happened in history such as Hitler in World War Two. When parents do not have the money to afford food for themselves it affects the nutrition of their children. Women in Africa is where there are too many malnourished women. There are many countries where their BMI is around fourteen percent (Müller, Olaf and Krawinkel, Michael, 2005). This is an extremely high number. Especially if the women are going through pregnancy. When women are going through pregnancy it adds even more stress to a woman (Ahmed, Tahmeed, 2012). This means women needs even more energy (5%to8%) (Ahmed, Tahmeed, 2012) during pregnancy. This would make it hard to come by if they are already under nutrition before pregnancy. This leads to more neonatal births being extremely underweight at the time of their birth. If there are ways to make nutrition be more available and help women get the nutrition they need that will help with less neonatal underweight. We must stop the wars and poverty from effecting malnourishment in the citizens that live there. This means we should have aid there to be able to step in. The inadequate diets also play a big role in people that can get the nutrients they need. If we could get them that availability or educate them on what they need it would be a big step in decreasing it. Malnutrient in third world countries is a big and increasing problem in the world. This could get even worse as our population keeps increasing in these region especially. We are continuing to make strides in trying to help these people
