Macbeth does not want to commit the murders, but his ambition leads him to take action. When Macbeth was in preparation to kill Duncan, the king of Scotland, he exclaims; “I am settled and bend up Each corporal agent to this terrible feat” (1.7.92-93). In other words, Macbeth meant settled, meaning determined and bend up each corporal agent meaning, to exert all power in one’s body. This leads to how he had the ultimate power to make his thoughts into action. Another character some may say that influenced Macbeth was Lady Macbeth, but Macbeth had the capability to take action. After Macbeth ordered three murders to kill Banquo and his son, he recites; “It is concluded. Banquo, thy soul’s flight, If it find in Heaven, must find it out tonight”
