In Morton A. Kaplan’s article Degrees of Evil it is stated, “There is important evidence that Stalin employed terror for reasons of personal pleasure and eventually for reasons of sheer paranoia” (Kaplan). In this instance, by what Kaplan is saying, it can easily be seen how Stalin’s actions were morally wrong. In some cases his actions had good intentions, like with trying to end the food crisis with collectivization, but the saying goes that the path to Hell is paved with good intentions.
