In all honesty, I do believe the legislature and executive branch should address the causes of elder abuse. Due to the fact that the “elderly population is rapidly growing with the aging of the Baby Boomers, there is likely to be a future increase in the prevalence of elder mistreatment” (Development of a Causal model for elder mistreatment, pg.363). According to professor Hogan, 80% of elder abuse takes place in the household. However, that 20% of elder abuse are significant as well and should be addressed.
