There are over thousands of people living that either have cancer or have had cancer. You will have more doctor visits, test, medications, and treatments then other people that do not have cancer. Screening plans will be made for someone with a history of breast cancer and it will include: a monthly breast self-exam, a yearly breast exam by your doctor, a digital mammogram every year once you get to 40 years old, and an MRI scan every year. You may have to take these tests more often than someone that does not have breast cancer or a history of breast cancer. If someone in your family has had breast cancer, then most likely your doctor will start checking you at a younger age, just to make sure you do not get it and if you do they can treat it as soon as they notice
