Jack (as the group of boys head up the mountain to witness the Beast) contemptuously order Piggy to “go up and see [the Beast]” adding “good riddance” (214) to his command. Because Jack represents the dictating form of government, his attitude towards Piggy is biased and judgmental. Correspondingly, some governments will selectively pick who’s allowed into their society. Generally, the society will contain only the fittest and exclude the disabled. French philosopher Rousseau conveys “People… unequal in ability… only matters for the corrupted civilized man” (Social Contract Chart). Though “all men are created equal”, that phrase isn’t viewed by everyone. Through a dictating government’s perspective, it is only the vigorous people allowed in their society.
