Cause and Effects of Depression
Depression is one of the biggest diseases between teenagers and adults. Depression is not just a state of mind. It is related to physical changes in the brain. It is connected to an imbalance of a type of chemical that carries signals in your brain and nerves. It’s more than just a feeling of being “down in the dumps” or “blue” for a few days. There are more than 20 million people in the United States who have depression and they will tell you that the feelings will not go way easy without any help. Depression can run in families, and usually starts between the ages of 15 and 30. The disease is most common in women.
