Some countries did not have a reason to implicate themselves into the war besides the fact that their ally was involved, causing them to be “guilty by association”, and forcing them to enter the war. Germans only wanted the war to occur so they would have the opportunity to show off their weaponry, voluminous army filled with many men, ships, and airplanes, and most of all to show off their strength and power. The Western Front was much less commodious than the Eastern Front because the Eastern Front extended over a much larger portion of land, making the battlefield more spacious. The Western front was also much different from the Eastern Front because of trench warfare. The soldiers that fought using trench warfare found shelter in squalid trenches that mainly consisted of dirt, mud, bugs, and were surrounded by several dead bodies.
