Cause Of World War One

I'm WW1 there was a ton of death. 9 million soldiers died in action, and 21 million wounded and probably more. France lost a good percentage of its population to the war. The death tolls for WW1 was a high number, and a very slim amount of that was Americans that died. The main causes of WW1 are militarism, nationalism, and alliances like Triple Entente and Triple Alliance.

Militarism: The belief in that your military is better than others, and the drive on wanting to use it. Within countries there is obviously a military that takes place within it. The people in these militaries want to exert their powers of their military and use it. Take two hothead football players for instance. Odell Beckham and Josh Norman, two good football players but terrible mindset for being cocky. The two players think that they are better than each other to they get into fights, same thing is what caused WW1. These two militaries think they are better and go cause war with each other. Having this pride for your country starts a war because you get into an argument on who country is better. You bicker to the point that you declare war on the other person. It's all in the head that yours is better than the other country. They drive on wanting to prove that their country is better so they go cause war to do so. This is similar to militarism but relates more to the country itself. To have militarism you need to have nationalism in my opinion. A military is within a country but a country can be within a
