What is child abuse? Child abuse is when a parent or caregiver, whether through action or failing to act, causes injury, death, emotional harm or risk of serious harm to a child.Child Abuse can be reported in many ways,and their are certain people who have to report and they are called mandatory reporters.Teachers, Nurses, and Counselor are supposed to report if they think one of their students is a victim of child abuse. In most states professions that engage in regular contact with children are as listed as mandatory reporters. Child abuse often occurs because adults blame all of their stress on the children, as the children they are looking after are often not their own and the parents are often substance abuser. Stress has a big part in child abuse , some parents are so stressed out and they blame their children for their own problems. According to Childhelp over10% of children who are abused live in a single parent household. Being a single parent is not easy , it comes with alot of responsibility , like having to work and provide things for your child. Parents who abuse drugs or alcohol are typically always high or drunk , and dont know whats going on around them. So since drugs and alcohol are there stress reliever they drink and do drugs and , often take their anger out on the children and verbally , physically , maybe even sexually abuse their child due to alcohol or drug abuse.
