The Causes of Cancer Cancer is one of the top leading deaths in the world today. It contains many diseases in which abnormal cells divide uncontrollably and destroy body tissue. Cancer can start almost anywhere in the human body, and will continue to grow further. There are more than a hundred types of cancer. These types have many leading causes, some of them being radiation, air pollution, and genetics. One cause of cancer is radiation. Most people think of radiation as nuclear bombs or cancer treatments. However, radiation takes many forms and is always around us. There are different types of radiation such as Gamma Rays, X-rays, Ultraviolet radiation, Radon, and cellular phones. All of these types have radiation along with having different amounts. Radiation is the release of energy from any source. It can come from the earth, sun, and other galaxies. Some types are more dangerous than others. For …show more content…
Air pollution is a complex mixture of many different substances and the exact contents vary depending on what sources of pollution are nearby, your location, the time of year and even the weather. We as humans need air in order to live so we breathe in everything thats in it. Yet its not possible for us to see what we are breathing or to exactly know. This air is contaminated with many things that are the main sources of air pollution. These sources include transport, industry, fossil fuel power stations, farming, and the fuels people use to cook and heat their homes. Each one of these sources pollutes the air in its own way. For example, factories pollute the air through fossil fuel emissions. These emissions include carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. While all of these are naturally occurring substances, its the high levels of emission that are the concern.
