Overpopulation is being caused by many different things throughout the world. Some of the causes of Overpopulation consist of families having more kids to try to overcome poverty, Technological advancements in fertility treatment, Immigration, lack of family planning, decline in death rate, and better medical facilities (Rinkesh Par. 1-13) which is a good thing but it contributes to less deaths which lengthen life and create more people for the earth to take care of. All causes lead to effects, and some of the effects that overpopulation has on the world and people are depletion of natural resources, degradation of the environment, conflicts and wars erupt, a rise in unemployment, and a high cost of living. Africa is one of the most overpopulated places on earth some parts worse than others, and to make matters worse “Africa 's population is expected to triple by the end of the century”(There Are Too Many Of Us? Par. 4). Not only will the population triple but so might conflict according to Ziko Mclean ”As African countries need more and more resources to satisfy their growing populations, conflicts over scarce resources will only grow. While overpopulation is a major part in the problem of many of Africa’s issues” (Mclean Par. 5). Africa is not the only place being affected by overpopulation. India is struggling very much as well, “India has one of the fastest growing populations in the world and the Ganges River shows their lack of resources available to the people of India. The Ganges is one of the most polluted rivers in the world. It supports over 400 million people with a population density of 1,000 people per square mile. India is an example of developing country that has a rise in its population growth rate. It cannot support its population now, many of the people in India are forced to bathe in the Ganges because they have no access to any other water source.
