According to Dictionary.com, imperialism is defined as "the policy of extending the rule or authority of an empire or nation over foreign countries, or of acquiring and holding colonies and dependencies”. In simple terms, imperialism is the process in which one state imposes its control upon another through military force or political action in order to exploit the area for raw materials and strategic purposes. In the modern world, terrorism is a form of imperialism because they both contain the process of taking territory/land, take control of the people, and use their resources. In addition to that, terrorism also “brainwashes” the locals to make them think differently. Similar events are happening in North Korea where Kim Jong Un brainwashes his country’s people to make the think that he is a god. Imperialism should not be printed on any textbooks in the future.
Boko Haram is an Islamic terrorist group in Maiduguri, Nigeria. The name of their group means “No Western” or “Non-Islamic” to prevent Western education in Nigeria.
