It is no secret that technology has made many tasks easier and less strenuous. Now, instead of going outside and actually playing soccer or basketball, people can just sit back turn on their favorite gaming system and play those sports like the professionals. They can do this without actually running around and sweating. Physical activity is just as important to healthy living as a healthy diet. People claim that they do not have the time to exercise or go to the gym. People assume that going to the gym means dedicating two hours a day seven days a week. Or, they assume that workout out means endless strides on the treadmill or boring and mundane free weight routines. However, fitness can be something enjoyable like bike riding, a brisk walk, or one’s favorite sport. The recommended amount of physical activity is at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity 2-3 times per week (CDC). So, these people are saying that they do not have and hour to and hour and a half to save their lives. That is what physical activity is doing after all. By engaging in physical activity, in conjunction with a healthy diet, one reduces their risk of early death and serious health problems.
