Alcoholism is a disease that many people suffer from and have trouble admitting. Even with very little alcohol, it may impair judgment and coordination required to safely drive a car or operate machinery. Large amounts of alcohol can lead to dizziness, slurred speech, and in many cases vomiting. “Hangovers” are cause by consuming large amounts of alcohol, and symptoms may include headache, nausea, dizziness, and fatigue. Using alcohol over a long period of time may lead to several types of cancer, permanent damage to vital organs, and high blood pressure. Mothers who drink alcohol during pregnancy may give birth to infants with fetal alcohol syndrome. Alcohol is illegal to anyone under the age of twenty-one years old. Even though there is an age restriction for alcohol, it is widely used by high school and college students. More than one hundred thousand deaths happen each year in the United States from excessive alcohol

The most common kind of hallucinogens is LSD and PCP. These drugs are very dangerous and have unpredictable effects, which vary from person to person. The reason the effects of the drug are unknown, is because it depends on what the strength of the drug is, the amount taken, and the chemical makeup. When using LSD or PCP, the user will hallucinate. The user will then experience a “good trip” or a “bad trip” depending upon how strong the drug is, the atmosphere the user is in, the user’s mood, and their personality. In the result of a “good trip” the user will create fantasies in their mind and everything will be amazing. This may cause the user to keep on using the drug over and over. In a “bad trip,” the user will feel like their life is a living nightmare. They will feel terrible and want the trip to end. The long term effects of using hallucinogens are very dangerous. Heavy users will experience impaired memory and attention span. They will find themselves confused at times over everyday things and they may even develop brain
