There should be no more texting and driving. It affects everyone because texting can cause you to lose control and harm yourself and other drivers. It only takes seconds for something to happen and that can affect everyone around you. It is most important to think about how you can harm other and realize you should stop before getting in hurt. Adults texting can affect not just one life, but their own family's and the other drivers lives too. Not all people are affected by texting and driving, but it's not worth the risk. 91% of adults have cell phones. 48% of kids have seen their driver or parents text or call while driving. 153 million kids are orphans or live with one parent. Why risk your life and your kid's future just to send a text. It only takes five seconds to change yours and your kids life. Why risk your life when you can live another day. Don't put yourself and others in danger. Most people don't actually know how many people are affected by texting and driving. In 2011 23% of crashes were caused by texting and driving, that is 1.3 million crashes. One in four accidents are caused by phones. Yes that means three out of four crashes are caused by something else but why risk that other one. More than half of American teens say that they can text and drive, that it will be fine which is understandable because it doesn't always result in an accident but why risk it. 48% of teens from age 12-17 have been in a car when an adult was texting and driving.
