When writing, one has to understand that it is a practice which involves a multi-stage, recursive and social process. In the other words, the process of writing involves editing, responding to feedback, collaborating, drafting, rereading, revising, reviewing. The process occurs in multiple stages, from reading peer reviewed articles to drafting a thesis statement, to writing the paper, then eventually revising, responding to feedback and editing. An example of this process is evident in my causal essay, Social Media’s Effects on Young Adults. The introduction paragraph lacked focus and at first seemed to have no relation to the topic I intended to discuss.
