When the Dad calls the son can’t find the time to see his Dad. “I’d like to see you if you don't mind.” The son's new job was a hassle and his kids had the flu. As the Father put down the phone he realized that his son had grown up just like him.
As the boy grew he didn’t want to be like his Dad anymore, but he turned out exactly like him. The Dad was always too busy to play with his child and when the boy grew older he couldn’t find the time to see his Dad. The two men switched roles and neither liked it very much at times. “The cats in the cradle and the silver spoon, Little boy blue and the man on the moon.” Little boy blue and the man on the moon are both nursery rhymes. I think that this symbolizes that the Dad and son are in the same “world” but they are involved different ways. This song has taught me that I need to take time out of my day for the importance in life. I need to be a good person and I don't need to be busy all of the time so that I can give my kids what they want. Instead, I need to spend time with the children.
