Decent Essays
My parents and teachers always taught me that no matter what I decide to do with my life always take the decision that will not only lead to a good outcome for you but also those around you. I always dreamt to be a teacher because I wished for every child to stand up for themselves and their family. One of my goals is to build a school back in my home country, Pakistan so every child especially girls who are left behind can obtain their education and climb the ladder of success.

When I first heard about DPO in Cat’s Back I was little surprised because I was unexpectedly interested in joining the sorority! I only saw “sororities” in movies and always thought it was something I will not be able to do. However, DPO pulled me towards it as I continued

Working so closely with the on-campus fraternity Kappa Sigma for the homecoming dance I really got to see the best in them and what really made the organization stand out. This further peaked my curiosity and made me think maybe this could be the right organization. Never would I have thought that my values would align so closely with a group of boys like they did with Kappa Sigma. I saw exactly what the pledge Scott Fisher saw when he first met a Kappa Sigma boy “ I met guys who I got along with and who really watched out for me.” The boys of Kappa Sigma instantly create strong bonds with the people that they meet wherever they go, warming them up and make them feel wanted and welcome in whatever situation they’re in.…

My passion for art has followed me since I was five years old, when I was inspired by my kindergarten art teacher, who told us we could paint grapes whatever color we wanted. Being given that freedom made me feel ecstatic. That freedom I was able to have with art gave me a sense of purpose, even at a young age. However, when I moved to a different elementary school, the art teacher stripped us of that freedom. She was very cold and made people dread going to art class, including me.…

When people think of a good teacher they think of one that is nice, encouraging, trusting, and many other adjectives. Unlike most people, who change their mind on the career they want, I knew from the start that I wanted to be a teacher. I have many goals I hope to achieve when I am a teacher for example, making class a fun and exciting environment for the students and have them look forward to coming to class. I knew I wanted to be a teacher since I was young because I had a teacher that I had a close relationship with and made me love school. My cats’ behaviors and psychology Psychology was a new thing to me when I enrolled in this class. I used to think that psychology was only judging the mental state of a patient by asking what they have dreamt of or how they felt. However, after I have participated in several lectures about psychology, I knew that psychology is more than that. Every move, every perception, every memory can be classified into psychology and there are always theories explaining people’s behaviors and their perceptions. Psychology can be even used to explain how animals behave, like the skinner’s box proposed by B.F. Skinner.…
