In the article, the researchers found some solutions to prevent catheterization infection. First of all, they created an electronic medical record. It helps in the assessment of the catheterization by answering these questions: What is the purpose of the catheter? Is catheter necessary for the patient case?
This record is also used to enhance the communication between nurses and physicians. It encourages the nurse to bravely and confidently ask the doctors for removing catheter order whenever it is no more needed for the patient. In addition, the record is used in documenting the catheterization process step by step.
