Cather's Antonia

Cather really does seem to admire Antonia by the end of the book. Even though Antonia didn't show up until near the end of the book, I felt like she was the protagonist not Jim. Anyways there are three specific qualities of Antonia's personality that I think that made Cather really admire Antonia.

The first trait I'll list out is Antonia's optimism. Antonia was described to have 'natural optimism' in the book and it's pretty true. Even after having so many kids with her fiance she still loved to dance and was still herself after so many different hardships.

My second trait I'll list is Antonia's hard working attitude. In the story Antonia's fiance left her with a baby to be a single mother. So instead of wallowing in depression Antonia took

The character Kidd makes me particularly admire was Lily. The traits she showed throughout the story showed how strong mentally and emotionally she is. Being a child and going through many hardships such as her mother dying and her father verbally abusing her shows the emotional toughness she has. “ I knew that the explosion I'd heard that day had killed her. The sound still sneaked into my head once in a while and surprised me.…

In this essay I will be discussing the experiences and traits of both Cheryl and April Raintree, and how I personally relate to them. The sisters are two very strong women, as displayed by Cheryl standing up for her beliefs and her pride in her identity, as well as April's resilience even in the toughest times. To begin, Cheryl's character is a strong, independent woman who knows what is right and will challenge those who don't respect her opinions and beliefs. The scene in chapter 4 where Cheryl talks back to her teacher is a prime example of said quality; even when sent to the principals office and had Mrs. DeRosier called, the young Cheryl stood her ground because she knew she was right. This trait resonates with me because I…

86% on paperrater In the novel “The Lakota Way”, written by historian, writer, teacher, craftsman, administrator, actor, and public speaker, Joseph M. Marshall III, is a story about the ways of the Lakotas. Within the book, there was twelve core qualities taught, such as; bravery, fortitude, generosity, wisdom, respect, honor, perseverance, love, humility, sacrifice, truth, and compassion. Of these twelve qualities, I feel as though sacrifice, bravery, and wisdom are the uttermost powerful admonitions to learn from this book. From this book the reader learns the way of life and what a vast amount of the Native American people lived by.…

Antigone takes place in Thebes, located in Greece. It was written by Sophocles, in 441 B.C. It was written in such different settings and times unlike my book, Reckless. Reckless was written by Cecily von Ziegesar, in the year 2005. So even though Antigone is a greek tragedy which took place a long time ago, and Reckless is a more modern book, it has many similarities.…

One of my favorite characters, Miss Alma LeFay Peregrine, is a character in the book Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children, where she teaches and protects a handful of children with strange abilities, hence the word peculiar. Miss Peregrine aids the young protagonist, Jacob Portman, in his journey to discover his role in the peculiar world. As Miss Peregrine’s character develops, you see some of her more obvious traits. She is affectionate, teacherly, powerful, protective, and orderly. Of course, Miss Peregrine has more depth than just those five words, but these are some of her traits that I thought stuck out and are pretty important in describing Miss Peregrine.…
