Images, one sees images everywhere one goes. This is why when it comes to mnemonic using images it works when we use it for everyday use. How does imagery work? "We mentally represent objects, actions, or ideas that are not physically present” (Matlin, 2013). The images are used in the form of pictures, these pictures helps one be able to recall information when one needs to use it. These images can either be mental images or drawn/sketched out in order to learn and remember information. For example, you would like to remember Catherine Rivers name. The best way to remember her name would be to make a mental image of her name. Now picture Catherine Rivers face, now picture a cat in a river. It is interesting how motivating this strategy can be. This strategy can even be applied when trying to learn to speak a new language. Lets take the word Campaña in spanish meaning bell, this is an easy one to remember because one can easily imagine a girl ana at the campsite. When one try to remember this information by remembering the girl ana at the campsite one gets the word Campaña. Concrete nouns are usually very easier to use when it comes to imagery because it formulates the object. Images that can give emotion are great because one can relate to the words and the image creates a bond with oneself. Bizarreness creates a unique picture in ones head in order to remember similar information.
