In the Hossack murder trial one of the family members was Catherine Hossack she also went by the nickname (Cassie). She was the oldest child of the family. While on the stand during the trial and in cross examination. Cassie was asked if she had heard anything from her father, at which she replied that she had not heard for father say anything or make any kind of noise. What’s compelling about her testimony is that earlier in the case when her younger brother William was on the stand as well as all the other family members had stated that they has heard there father talking. At first Mr. Hossack called out for Mrs. Hossack. Other family members had mentioned that Mr. Hossack was asked if he was hurt at which he replied that he wasn’t hurt just very ill. …show more content…
She had stated that she went to the Nicholson’s right after she saw her father lying in bed with life threatening wounds to his head. Cassie said she went to the Nicholson’s around 1’ o’clock. This was the same time that Mrs. Hossack stated that she heard a noise in the house. And called for the Children. At which Cassie replied to her mother to go back to be as if her mother was hearing things and it was nothing or that Cassie was aware of someone in the house and played it off as there being no one in the house. Other family members has testified that this all happened around 2 o’clock. Cassie also confessed that Mr. Hossack her father had a many secrets that he would take to the grave. In a previous conversation Mr. Hossack did say there was some family trouble between him and his wife in connection with bringing up the children, and this information is what the secret he had
