Sustainability is an important part of the strategy of Caterpillar Inc. They apply innovation a technology in order to improve the sustainability performance of their products, services, solutions and operations. What is more, they believe sustainable progress is made possible by developing better systems that maximize the life cycle benefits, while also minimizing the economic social and environmental costs of ownership, as reflected in their sustainability principles.

Caterpillar has 3 sustainability principles:
